There will be a Blood Drive at Monroeville HS on Tuesday, 11/1 from 7:30-1:30. The sign up sheet is in the HS office. If you have any questions direct them to Mrs. Harvey
Service Opportunity:
Mrs. Bellamy is looking for help with the Middle School Drama Club camp.  This is a 6 week program starting October 27th and running until December 10th.  Volunteers are needed to help with all areas of putting on a theater production: cast management, stage crew, set construction & painting, lights, sounds, & tech, as well as concessions. Anyone in grades 9-12 interested in earning service hours during this program, please see Mrs. Bellamy in the HS Library.
Norwalk VFW has an essay contest for grades 9th through 12.  The scholarship is called Voice of Democracy. The students who would like to participate would have to write or type and then record a 3-5 minute essay on the theme provided. This year the theme is, Why is the Veteran important?
There are deadlines for the student who would like to participate, which is October 31. Mr. Dunlap has a flyer with more information if you are interested.  
Scholarship opportunities:

Contests due this Fall by October 31  at your local VFW post.
   -scholarship for Patriot Pen is $5,000 at national level. Each state winner is awarded  $500.  Theme is "My Pledge to Our Veterans". 
    -open to grades 6-8 
   -scholarship for Voice of Democracy is $35,000 at national level. Theme is
"Why is the Veteran Important?"  
     -open grades 9-12

 The creators of the “Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2023

The Monroeville Spring Musical will be back this year! For three nights only, we will be performing...Little Shop of Horrors by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman! This is a funny and macabre rock musical set in 1960s Skid Row with groovy Motown tunes.
The Auditions will be held in the choir room Wednesday, December 14th from 3:00-4:30 pm and Thursday, December 15th from 3:00-4:30 pm. Audition materials and sign-ups will be available by December 1st in the choir room. Auditions will be open to Jr. High and High School students. 
The Performances will be held Friday, May 5th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, May 6th at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, May 7th at 3:00 pm.
Rehearsals will start on February 6th and go up until the shows. Rehearsal will be flexible around athletic practices and games. So please do not let athletic commitments stop you from trying out!
Lost and Found in the HS office will be taken next Friday, 10/28, please be sure to check before then if you are missing anything
