A Little Bit About Me:
I am the eighth grade reading and language arts teacher. I also teach the gifted seventh graders ELA and bookspiration this year! I am a Monroeville Alumni and a huge sports fan! In my spare time I enjoy being outside, reading great books, baking goodies and spending time with my family. I have a daughter who is 3 years old. I enjoy going on boat rides and walks with my husband, daughter and dog:)!
Reading & English 8:
In ELA 8 we will read some amazing books and work on our writing skills! Some books we will read: The Giver, The Outsiders, Anne Frank, The Grimm Fairy Tales, & My Brother Sam is Dead. In English we practice our writing daily with fun activities and challenging journal prompts. We also work with the 5 paragraph essay method and practice using MLA formatting. In ELA, we recently adopted a new curriculum and we have witnessed some amazing results. Students have enjoyed the new texts and challenging curriculum
Need extra help?
I stay after school at least 2 times per week! If you ever need some extra one on one help or just a quiet place to study after school, you are more than welcome to stay! Please let me know 2 days in advance if you would like to stay so I can plan accordingly!
I use the google classroom app all of the time with students. The ‘classroom’ is where most assignments can be found and I can also make announcements in it to let students know of upcoming events!
