I have become extremely fond of Twitter as a way to send out messages and reminders.  What is Twitter?  According to wikipedia, Twitter is a free social-networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message (SMS) or external applications. While the service itself costs nothing to use, accessing it through SMS may incur phone service fees.  It is very easy to subscribe using a computer or an internet-enabled cell phone.  Messages are then "pushed" out to your device of choice.  It is a great way for the school to communicate upcoming events, news, and other issues of interest to the community.  So what are you waiting for?  You can go to twitter.com and create a free account, and can view our twitter feed at http://twitter.com/mville_eagles.  You could also add our feed to Google reader or your favorite RSS Client here: https://twitter.com/statuses/friends_timeline/78865368.rss
