On July 2, 2009, the Southern District of Ohio granted the parties’ Second Joint Motion for Preliminary Approval of Partial Class Action Settlement in the case of John Doe, et al., v. State of Ohio, et al., Case No. 2:91-cv-464  (Doe v. As you may have read in the newspaper, the Monroeville Local Schools will be on the ballot in August for a renewal of a current emergency operating levy.  This levy involves NO NEW TAXES and simply allows us to continue operating with the same amount of funding.  This is one of the levies we offered to drop if the community approved an earned income tax levy in May, but that was defeated.  I was recently interviewed by Joe Centers of the Norwalk Reflector regarding our financial challenges:
