Welcome to Monroeville Local Schools

Monroeville Hall of Fame

 

            The Monroeville Hall of Fame was established in 2008. The purpose of this organization is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Monroeville Schools and/or Monroeville Community. These individuals have distinguished themselves as successful adults in their respective careers or as community servants. This would include those who have received honors through meritorious service in selected careers and/or have served as benefactors of mankind.

 

Criteria for Nominations

1)    All candidates must be nominated on an official Hall of Fame nomination form. The candidate must be eligible in one of the following categories:

a)     The nominee, if an ALUMNI, must wait at least 15years from the time his/her class graduated from Monroeville High School and should have made an outstanding achievement as an athlete, scholar, or community member.

b)   Thenominee, if a COMMUNITY MEMBER, will be considered if they have made ongoing and outstanding contributions to the Monroeville Schools.

c)    The nominee, if a SCHOOL EMPLOYEE (teacher, coach, etc), must have departed from the service of the Monroeville Schools for five years and must have made an outstanding contribution to the school during his/her tenure.

d)   TEAM or GROUP (i.e.the 1984 basketball team) may be inducted as a group.  In such cases, the team or group must have made an outstanding achievement that is extremely unique in the history of Monroeville Schools (i.e. a state championship in a OHSAA sanctioned tournament).

2)    The record and/or the contribution of the individual must be so outstanding that there is no questions to his/her qualifying for the Hall of Fame.

3)    The nominee must have demonstrated good citizenship in school and after leaving school.

4)    NOMINATIONS ARE DUE IN THE MONROEVILLE LOCAL SCHOOLS BOARD OFFICE BY THE FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER EACH YEAR IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR’S INDUCTION.

5)    All nominations of those not inducted will be kept on file in the board of education office for consideration each ensuing year.

6)    NO ANONYMOUS NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
